Local 2's offices are opened Monday through Friday with regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours, you can reach Local 2 through the answering service. Emergencies after regular business hours can be handled by any union officer who may be on-duty or by paging individual board members.

Our Mission

The Chicago Fire Fighters Union, Local 2 is the sole bargaining agent representing the fire fighters and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department. It seeks to promote an harmonious and progressive work environment between employer and employees in order to better serve the citizens of Chicago whom we have sworn to protect. 

Organization Profile

The Union serves over seven thousand active and retired members. All officers of the Union have served or are serving in the Chicago Fire Department and are elected by the general membership every three years. Local #2 is proud to be one of the oldest and largest locals in the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC.
